On my usual walk, I approached the doom and gloom house. Never saw who lived there. They never had any outdoor plants or decorations. Just a mailbox, an un-sailable boat, weekly trash cans, and a new-ish car. Lately, I had observed that the house had new owners. The boat disappeared and hanging baskets with flowers appeared by the side door.

Today, to my amazement, I saw a tall fir tree’s trunk wrapped snuggly with Christmas lights!

My eyes popped open. I gazed at it in awe. I walked up to it. I felt connected to the tree’s happiness. It was loved and part of the new family. I took a picture of it and put in in my gratitude app for November 21, 2022.
