I learned of the archbishop Desmond Tutu from The Book of Joy. I was broken hearted by life and desperate to find joy. This book helped me through darkness. I admire the friendship between the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. It has inspired me to practice compassion in my life and help others around me. Their friendship allows me see beyond myself, to the bigger picture. The world needed Desmond Tutu and his selfless perseverance of helping others. The friendship of these two world leaders is an inspiration and gives me hope. I am sure others feel it as well. The archbishop's legacy will live on through my actions of selflessness (and hopefully countless actions of others).
