I'm so grateful for Bishop Desmond Tutu ("Arch") and all that he did with his life to make life better for South Africans, and for us all throughout the world.
In the documentary, for example, Arch demonstrated such compassion and understanding for the young girl who was clearly struggling with the very big "adult-like" emotions of having been separated from her family, community and all that she knew as home. It was evident that Arch was sincerely moved by the young girl's raw emotions as she struggled to deal openly with the past. Witnessing this impacted me in such a way that I became vulnerable in allowing my own somewhat stoney heart to be filled with compassion.
This is the true principle and meaning of joy -- said in a word, "ubuntu" -- that allows us to collectively celebrate life as life generation after generation. Arch was a catalyst for that!
