What a remarkable person Arch was, and how long he and his examples will live  and thrive among those of us who followed his career in South Africa and around the World!

When I saw the film Mission: JOY, he seemed to have aged considerably since the last time I saw him on television. Tonight I feel an ambivalence in his passing between the person he was and my failure to grow into anything like the person he was. As an American (PECUSA) Episcopalian, I felt that Arch was my brother, my earthly father, and the clergy person I regarded my leader. I intend to surfy his life as recorded in some of the many books about him, because that is what I think he would have me do. I send my sincere love and good cheer to his family and close friends who must surely be in pain at this moment. God blessed Arch is many ways, be He also blessed all of you. Let's bind ourselves to each other and to Arch's mission of Joyful thanksgiving today and every day in our futures.
