After hearing that the homeless rarely hear their name spoken w/kindness, I was approached by a homeless young woman. As I was offering her a pkg of face mask, hand sanitizer and cash, I made eye contact and asked her name. She looked surprised, but answered quietly, “Jenna.” Her first act was to say, “God bless you,” and I was already feeling blessed when I said, “you too, Jenna.” We smiled, and as I looked in my rear view mirror, she was almost bathing w/the sanitizer. Such simple things.
